Welcome to DataHit. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DataHit website, platform, and services (collectively, "the Platform"). Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The DataHit Platform

DataHit is a technology platform that connects independent contractors ("Contractors" or "Talent") with businesses ("Clients") for the purpose of completing remote data entry and transcription tasks ("Services"). The company acts as a facilitator to connect parties, provide tools, and manage payments.

2. User Accounts

  • Registration: You must register for an account to access the Platform. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • One Account Policy: Each individual is permitted to have only one Contractor account. Creating multiple accounts is a violation of these Terms and may result in the termination of all associated accounts.

3. Terms for Contractors (Talent Network)

  • Independent Contractor Status: You acknowledge and agree that you are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner of DataHit. You are not eligible for any employee benefits. You are solely responsible for all taxes, fees, and other liabilities arising from your compensation.
  • Work Packages & Activation Fee: To access the Project Board, Contractors must purchase a "Work Package." This includes a one-time, activation fee and a refundable security deposit.
  • Refundable Security Deposit: The security deposit portion of your fee is held to ensure commitment and quality. It will be fully refunded and included with your first successful payout for completed work. The deposit may be forfeited if you violate these Terms or fail to meet quality standards.
  • Compensation: Compensation is provided on a per-document basis as defined in your selected Work Package. This is not a salaried position, and any "Earning Potential" figures are estimates, not guarantees. Payments for all approved work are processed on a scheduled monthly basis.
  • Quality Standards: You are expected to maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Failure to meet the quality standards outlined in our Help Center may result in warnings, reduced access to projects, or account termination.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal or fraudulent purpose.
  • Submit false, inaccurate, or plagiarized work.
  • Share or distribute confidential client data obtained through the Platform.
  • Use bots, scripts, or other automated methods to complete tasks.
  • Attempt to circumvent our payment or security systems.
  • Create a hostile or unprofessional environment for other users or our staff.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at our sole discretion, without notice, for any violation of these Terms. Upon termination, you will be paid for any outstanding, approved work, unless the termination is due to fraudulent activity.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is," without any warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DataHit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Platform.

7. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and, where appropriate, via email. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
